REMASTERED IN 4K (two footage)
Buster-Jangle "Uncle" was the world's first underground nuclear explosion test, conducted on November 29, 1951, at the Nevada Test Site
Its primary goal was to study the effects of subsurface detonations on military infrastructure, equipment, and soil composition, especially regarding the destruction of underground bunkers.
Technical Parameters:
Yield: 1.2 kilotons (approx. 1/10 of Hiroshima bomb)*
Depth: Detonated 5.2 meters underground*
Outcome: Created an 80-meter-wide, 16-meter-deep crater with significant radioactive
PS: I was shocked by the resolution of this 1951 35mm B&W technical photographic film. It was very sharp and had great color gradations.
