Historical and Private Ownership
Kumbhavade Waterfalls is located on private property, once owned by the late Babasaheb Kupekar, a respected figure and former Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly. Due to landslides and safety concerns, the Kupekar family had restricted public access to the waterfall. However, the area’s undeniable charm continued to lure visitors, prompting the family to improve access by creating proper roads and implementing safety measures.
