Full Route Visual | London Bus Route 196 - Elephant & Castle to Norwood Junction | (EE15e) YX25ODW

So after doing the P5, I decided to check out one of the latest electrified routes: 196 that runs from Elephant & Castle to Norwood Junction. The route passes through iconic areas including Kennington, Vauxhall, Stockwell, Brixton, Herne Hill, Tulse Hill, West Norwood and Upper Norwood before arriving at Norwood Junction.

This route is currently operated by Arriva London South out of Norwood [N] Garage, using their brand-new Enviro400EV double-deckers. The smooth ride and quiet running of these new electrics really stand out along the busy streets of South London. I do wish I had filmed part of the route when it was with Abellio, as I felt their buses really suited the Norwood area — but credit where it’s due, Arriva are running this route very well, even when they temporarily used Gemini 3's & Electroliner's on the route in May 2025.

The bus in the thumbnail is EE17, but in this video I was actually on EE15. I had hoped to catch the special branded EE13 – celebrating 25 years of TfL buses – but it was all the way in Norwood, but we did pass it in West Norwood. The first person to say the timestamp, gets pinned. I hope you enjoy today's visual!
