Music-composers and brothers Armaan Malik and Amaal Mallik talk about their struggle despite having a known surname. 'It's your talent that makes or breaks you', they say. While Armaan says he never uses his surname, he adds that he went to reality show to prove his talent. Amaal on the other hand reveals that composers did not hire him because he's a composer's son and nephew - he adds that the struggle was more.

Indian singers, songwriters and brothers Armaan and Amaal Malik are the sons of Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik and and nephews of music composer and singer Anu Malik. While Amaal debuted in 2014 by composing three songs for Salman Khan's Jai Ho, following it up with the song "Naina" from Khoobsurat; Armaan became the youngest singer to win two debut awards at Global Indian Music Awards (GiMA) and best playback singer award at Big Star Entertainment Awards in 2015. Amaal Mallik is Currently managed by Mourjo Chatterjee (On Stage Talents), and Armaan is signed on by T-Series and Arista Records.
