What temperature should transmission fluid be? Will transmission fluid burn? What causes transmission temp to rise?
We talked with Mike Bolio of Mobil 1 about transmission fluid temps and how they can impact your engine.
The range of operating temperatures for a good balance of viscosity and heat is between 175-220 degrees.
Several factors can cause the temperature of your transmission fluid to rise, but you don’t want to see it break 240 degrees, because it could result in damage, varnish deposits, and other issues that you want to avoid.
To prevent this, it’s important to find the right type of transmission fluid for your ride, and make sure you’re aware of the fluid temperature so you aren’t at risk of harming the vehicle.
