This is the complete story of my DIY garden coop, from the very first cedar shingle to the final decision to let it go. For years, this coop was the heartbeat of my small garden. It housed my quail, including Bertha, the bird who healed me when I was broken. But as the seasons changed, I realized that holding onto the structure meant I was holding onto a past version of myself.
