Living Stones - solo show Jef Aérosol – opening Part 2

L’exposition Living Stones, présentée à la Strouk Gallery, réunit un ensemble inédit d’œuvres réalisées en 2016. Pour l’occasion, l’artiste a choisi de poursuivre ses récentes investigations autour du traitement au pochoir de sculptures antiques. Il élargit cette thématique et puise son inspiration dans le Patrimoine Mondial (Le Mont Rushmore, Les Géants de l’Ile de Pâques…) et l’Histoire de l’Art (« La Vénus de Milo », « La Vierge voilée » de Giovanni Strazza…). S’y jouxte la figuration d’individus, anonymes, afin de sonder la « représentation » de l’être humain.

Opening of the exhibition Jef Aérosol.

The exhibition Living Stones, presented at the Strouk Gallery, brings together a new set of works created in 2016. For the occasion, the artist has chosen to continue his recent investigations around the treatment with stencil of ancient sculptures. He expands this theme and draws his inspiration from the World Heritage (Mount Rushmore, The Giants of Easter Island ...) and the History of Art ("The Venus of Milo", "The Veiled Virgin" of Giovanni Strazza ...). The figuration of individuals, anonymous, in order to probe the "representation" of the human being.
