I made this video during the UK lockdown ‘lite’, on Saturday 30th May 2020, early evening. The walk was in and around Wivenhoe which is a lovely and unspoilt quiet little town on the River Colne just outside of Colchester, Essex in the UK. It was a beautiful summer evening. I ‘earthed walked’ the entire video (walked barefoot).
Couple of reasons why I do this - I think the footwear industry is extremely wasteful, damages our environment and promotes unnecessary consumerism, so just doing my little bit in an attempt to make some difference. Also being barefoot helps my mental and physical health, it's just generally good for my wellbeing. It doesn't suit everyone one though, each to their own.

It really was a perfect day for an earthing walk and the streets of Wivenhoe are mostly smooth and in good condition (unless you go off the beaten track like we did - little painful over the gravel tracks!).
If you listen with headphones - which I recommend this to experience the full effect of the binaural audio - you can hear the gentle thud of my footsteps on the hard surfaces, like a heartbeat.

I would love to bring more diversity to my content other than my town (nobody planned for a global lockdown!) so please subscribe and I promise much more to come as we slowly emerge into the ‘new norm’.

The video was made using a DJI Osmo Pocket camera, with DJI ND16 lens filter. I also used a DIY binaural mic made from two modified DJI FM-15 FlexMics, detailed in a previous video.
I use Adobe Premiere Pro with only minor processing.
