The Pearl FM1435 is part of Pearl’s Free-Floating series, where the shell is completely isolated from the hardware to maximise resonance and deliver an open, highly articulate response. This model is 14×3.5″ and features a maple shell finished in Sequoia Red lacquer, a colour used on select Free-Floating models in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The drum has received a full service: it has been disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with a range of new and original parts.
All lugs are brand new, several tension rods have been replaced, and both top and bottom Remo heads are new. A new 15″ Bibin snare wire has also been installed, providing wide contact and precise response on a shallow shell of this type.
New parts / upgrades:
10× lugs – NOK 1,799
6× tension rods – NOK 699
15″ Bibin snare wire – NOK 699
Remo Ambassador Coated 14″ – NOK 332
Remo Ambassador Hazy 14″ – NOK 315
Total investment: NOK 3,844
The drum now appears close to new in both visual and functional condition.
The Free-Floating construction keeps the shell entirely independent from lugs and hardware, resulting in a clear, fast, and focused tonal character typical for shallow maple snares in this series.
