Here is the 109 year old, 1916 12-25 Case Tractor I adopted at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum when I was 16 years old. This video has the first successful start and drive of this machine since it was parked in 2019 due to a rotten radiator. The rad has been recored, tanks rebuilt, and it is once again a functioning artifact at the museum!
The Case 12-25 was first introduced in 1913, and this particular model was built in 1916. It’s powered by a horizontally opposed two-cylinder engine that operates at around 600 revolutions per minute. The drivetrain includes a two-shoe friction clutch, a sliding gear transmission, and a bull gear final drive system.
This tractor was donated in 1955 by W. Longstaffe of Cardale, Manitoba. It was affectionately known as “The Hercules” during its working years in the Cardale area, likely due to its dependable power in the field.
