This is a report in video form. The crew continues its work as stated bellow.
Clive Sparks – Restoration Hangar Manager:
Clive introduces John Jameson and the English Wheel, as well as doing the voiceover for John.
John Jameson – English Wheel:
John explains the English Wheel, as he creates a new skin for FM 104’s nose.
Roger Patterson Engine:
Roger machined a fixture-pulling device, to pull metal sleeves from the aluminum head of FM 104 Merlin engine. The unit is made of 5/8 steel plate. He then shows us his old hot water heater that he has redesigned to boil the aluminum head of the Merlin so as to remove the cylinders steel sleeve.
Dan Hilton – Firewall:
Dan shows us the current state of the firewalls on the center section of FM 104.
Duncan Stewart: Bulkhead:
Duncan, along with Jennifer Tennant, put the last rivets in the new bulkhead before sending it off to be painted. Duncan then shows us the finished product.
Bob Brown– Canopy:
Bob and Vernon Lappi finish hay wiring the metal part of the canopy together. Gary Powe shot video clips of Bob and Vernon hay wiring. This is a good way to have it all together while they wait for proper nuts and bolts to be found.
Gary Powe – Canopy – flashing / Voiceover:
Gary discusses the importance of securing the flashing to the front fuselage.
