BMC Election Results Live: Vote counting for elections to 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra began on Friday, with particular attention on Mumbai, where the BJP-led Mahayuti is locked in a high-stakes prestige battle against the reunited Thackeray cousins for control of India’s wealthiest civic body. Polling was held on Thursday for 2,869 seats across 893 wards — including 227 in Mumbai — with 15,931 candidates in the fray and 3.48 crore voters eligible to cast their ballots.
