Many companies offer maternity leave as a key benefit for new mothers, yet few realize that the healing process doesn’t stop when leave ends. The postpartum period can last well beyond the traditional 6 weeks or even 6 months, commonly assumed for recovery. Women often continue to experience unresolved physical symptoms.
The physical and emotional challenges of postpartum recovery don’t disappear when women return to their desks. Instead, they manifest in ways that affect confidence, focus, and productivity. In a recent survey shared in this video, 37% of women admitted to wetting themselves at work in the past month, and nearly 10% experience it daily. These issues create an invisible drag on workplace performance and mental health, leading to burnout and disengagement.
While many organizations provide maternity leave and phased returns, few address the ongoing physical recovery that underpins a woman’s ability to perform at work confidently. Flexibility and coaching can’t fix pelvic pain or rebuild core strength.
Postpartum recovery affects a woman’s ability to show up fully at work. Supporting this recovery is essential for health, well-being, and business success. Employers don’t need to reinvent the wheel; they can offer an existing, clinically validated program that’s proven to work.
It is a significant workplace issue for women, impacting their health, well-being, and ability to return to work effectively. Addressing postpartum needs through workplace support programs can improve employee retention, productivity, and morale, while also reducing absenteeism.
If you’re an employer, HR professional, or working mom, this video is a must-watch. By watching this video, you'll learn that Postpartum Recovery Is a Workplace Issue. Learn why postpartum recovery is a workplace issue and how your organization can lead the way in supporting women’s health and well-being.
