Today's story is about a woman who had everything: money, a house, a husband, children, and a UK visa, but she was unhappy. The woman's name is Sadika. Sadika is from Abbottabad and lived in Lahore for her studies. Sadika's parents wanted her to marry into a rich family. When Sadika completed her MA, she was engaged to a young man from Jhelum whose entire family was in the UK. The engagement lasted for four years. After four years, when the boy wanted to go to the UK and told her that he would be able to call Sadika after four years, the engagement was broken. But by then she was twenty-eight years old. Her parents wanted their daughter to get married somewhere where there was wealth. She was no longer of that age when single men would have relationships. Sadika, overcome by grief, went to Karachi and got a job. She worked for five years and the relationships she had in between were those of second marriage or runaways. When she was thirty-five, a relationship came. This is a blessing of work. The man was 48 years old and was having an argument with his first wife. Barkat was a UK citizen and had two daughters. A divorce case was in court. Sidika thought that if the divorce was finalized, the husband would be hers. She also thought that when they got married, the husband would build a house and give her the bank balance. After thinking about this, she agreed. Sidika got married and Barkat got her admission in the UK. Sidika went to the UK as a student because according to UK law, a man can only marry once. Sidika was later placed in the UK permanently by her husband on a work permit. She gave birth to two sons, but she was unhappy. First, the husband did not divorce his first wife because in case of divorce, half of the husband's property and business would go to the first wife. Sidika strongly objected to why he did not divorce her. The second objection was that he gave all his time to his first wife. There was a daily argument over this. Barkat paid for the expenses of his wife, the children's education, and the rent of the house. But the wife was not happy, Sidika wanted him to build a house for her in Pakistan, both of their lives became torment, Sidika informed the first wife that Barkat had married a second time, the first wife started fighting with Barkat, when the husband came to Sidika after arguing with the first wife, Sidika would also argue, thus the situation became worse, Sidika says that now when the arguments increased, Barkat left her for Pakistan with her sons, saying either learn to live with Amen or I will divorce you, Sidika cried after telling this story, Sidika thinks that she has been betrayed, I explained to Sidika that you are making your paradise-like life hell, you have considered material life as happiness when true happiness comes from relationships and love, you kept the desire for a house in your heart when your heart should have been filled with the love of your husband, leaving all the comforts of your husband and the desire for more has taken you away from happiness, you should think that you are not the first, the second wife Yes, if the husband had promised at the time of marriage that he would give you a house or a car, then it is fine, but nothing like that happened, then why are you wishing?
We all carry extra burdens on our minds, and we yearn for more while not being grateful for what we have, Sidika understood my point and promised that she will now focus on happiness and not desire material things,
