Lucy meets plans to meet with her mother before she makes her bus to Houston. Miss Ellie tells Lucy that she’s going with her to meet with Valene. At the park, Lucy takes Miss Ellie to Valene. Miss Ellie asks Valene how to find Gary whom she wants in her life and promises not to bring him back to Southfork after the way he was treated the last time and to meet him somewhere else. Valene tells Lucy and Miss Ellie that Gary kept in touch with her and promises to have Miss Ellie meet her son.
