What follows is a reading of C.S. Lewis', "The Screwtape Letters" by Adam Abraham.
A novel, first published in 1942, has been called a classic masterpiece of religious satire that uses irony and humor to portray human life and foibles from the perspective of a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below" named Screwtape, with numerous references to "The Enemy".
To add to the overall "spirit" of the experience, Screwtape's "voice" has been effectuated as Adam, or a reader, might imagine a "devil" to sound.
The novel is engaging and thought-provoking, exploring the nature of temptation and how people can triumph over it.
As it is in the book, this reading consists of a preface and 31 chapters.
