Beat the Heat With This 1-2 Punch! 🎣

Hello, everyone! This was a fun trip! In May + June, you could catch bass on almost anything - whatever you like to throw. But now, the water is HOT and the shallow bite that I was on evaporated with the rising water temps. I had to bring out my old school portable FF to help land on some fish. So, 1st part is location which I'll talk about in the video, but these bass were in ~15' and there were a bunch of them in 15'. 2nd part is how to catch them and I used a 1-2 punch combo of a damiki rig and strolling. Damiki rig is fished vertically with a double-line knot pushed back on the eye of the jighead so the minnow sits horizontally. For strolling, I typically use a little bigger minnow and I tie in a loop knot, so while I'm shaking & reeling slowly - the minnow is doing almost a 180 turn, left to right, as I'm fishing it. On a good morning, they'll eat both readily. If it's slow, they might shy off from the strolling, but they will still eat a damiki rig if you hang it just above them for long enough. Together, they are a great 1-2 punch for beating the summer heat. So, come along with me, as I head for a hot morning of fishing!
