Polar Night ❄️🌙🔥 CAMPFIRE (real location - NO AI)

Welcome to nearly 12 hours of warm light in winter darkness, presented by the Campfire Experience and creator Robin Lund.

This is probably the darkest of my campfire scenes so far, as I usually aim to include twilight, even for winter solstice. But truth be told, my initial attempt failed to properly ignite without me noticing, so it’s all dark (other than the warm glow from the campfire).

Polar night is a phenomenon that occurs in the northernmost and southernmost regions of Earth when the Sun remains below the horizon for more than 24 hours. This only occurs inside the polar circles. I live in a fjord surrounded by mountains, so the effective polar night period is extended. That means several long winter months with no sunlight.

The soundscape is dominantly campfire crackles and pops, and some skiing sounds in the start.

WHY STEREO? This channel makes quite an emphasis on providing a true stereo audio recording, and you might ask yourself what the stereo fuss is about. Well, it’s about that immersion thing. While it is easier to record crackling sounds in mono, no-one experiences a campfire with one ear directly in the fire. Humans have two ears, which gives us spatial awareness. And there is always ambience around a campfire, so that should also be part of the recording. A true binaural recording might be a little too distracting. I’ve found that a mindful stereo setup serves the overall scenes the best. Feel free to add your thoughts on this in the comments.
