This year marks the 241th anniversary of the founding of Slemani, a city renowned for its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. Established on November 14, 1784, by Ibrahim Pasha Baban, the city emerged as the capital of the Baban Emirate, which he relocated from Qalachwalan to Slemani. The city was named in honor of Ibrahim Pasha’s father, Sulaiman Pasha.
