First and main problem I will mention is common No start / No crank condition. It can be very hard to diagnose as it is caused by either failed WCM (wireless control module) or failed Relay Box. Relay panel collects moisture over time and asd relay corrodes and fails. It is badly located in the driver side wheel well area. This repairs can get quite expensive if mechanic working on the vehicle is not experienced as he might miss diagnose and replace unnecessary car parts.
Other than that everything else are minor problems.
Rust is generally not a problem.
Sometimes these vehicles will rust around rear wheel wells which can be troublesome if not repaired on time. If you are looking to buy this vehicle make sure to check it. Generally undercarriage / rocker panels do not rust.
Throttle Body sometimes fails and if not cleaned / replaced Jeep will often get in Limp mode which can be quite dangerous if it happens on highway or a busy road.
Wheel Bearings fail regularly which causes ABS and Traction Control systems not to work as wheel speed sensor is built in into the wheel hub. Not too expensive repair, but still worth mentioning.
Older models pre - facelift often had problems with crankshaft / camshaft sensors. Issue was the electrical connection and there is even TSB and recall for that problem.
Water would also leak through sunroof or roof guides. Seals are often problematic and has to be resealed. water would get inside the cabin and do damage to roof liner.
Last thing to mention is radio problems. There radios like to fail and easiest / cheapest thing is just to replace them. Used are around $100 usually.
Thanks for watching.
