30km 遡行を歩き切った先にだけ広がる、虹鱒の聖域、この日は、体力も気力も限界に…！日帰りで辿り着くには、念入りな経験と準備、その覚悟が必要🫡それでも山の中に泊まりたくない。理由は、圧倒的なクマの存在🐻
明け方の4時前🏔️朝一番でもちろん遭遇し、その後も痕跡や匂い、無数の気配を感じながら遡行を続けました。北海道の渓は、常に命の緊張感と隣り合わせです。

けれど、その先にある景色と釣果は、言葉では語り尽くせないほどの楽園、ただ、これも全てはタイミング🐟

雨が続けば近づくこともできず、渇水になれば鱒の活性は落ち、同じ場所でも時期を少し違えるだけで全く釣れない日もある。おそらくこの一日は、数年に一度だけ訪れる奇跡だったのだと思います。

北海道に通い始めて10年ほど。スノーボードを合わせると30年🏔️イメージ程、簡単に大物が釣れる場所ではない、自然を理解し、環境に心を重ね、すべてをアジャストさせることができたときだけ、特別な釣りが生まれます。

道具や技術を超えた「自然との対話」。
これこそが毎年、自分に課す一番のテーマです。

Beyond 30 kilometers of relentless trekking lies a sanctuary of wild rainbows.
That day, both my body and spirit were pushed to the limit.
Reaching it in a single day demands meticulous experience, preparation, and the resolve to keep moving. 🫡
Even so, I never want to camp deep in the mountains—for one overwhelming reason: the presence of countless bears. 🐻

At 4 a.m., just before dawn, I inevitably encountered one, and from there, the trek continued among tracks, scents, and the unshakable awareness that they were always near.
In Hokkaido’s mountain streams, you are constantly sharing the landscape with life itself, in all its tension and beauty.

But beyond that fear and exhaustion awaits a landscape and fishing experience so extraordinary, no words can truly describe it.
Yet all of it comes down to timing. 🐟

When the rains fall for days, the river becomes inaccessible.
When drought comes, the trout lose their vigor.
Even in the same place, shifting your timing by just a week can mean the difference between abundance and total absence.
This day, perhaps, was the kind of miracle that only comes once every few years.

I’ve been coming to Hokkaido for around ten years—and if you count snowboarding, nearly thirty. 🏔️
Contrary to the romantic image, it is never easy to land big fish here.
Only by understanding nature, tuning your heart to the environment, and adjusting everything to the rhythms of the wild does something truly special happen.

A dialogue with nature that goes beyond equipment or technique—
That is the greatest challenge I set for myself, year after year.
