The Best Historical Weapons for SKELETON WARRIORS

How fantasy fighters best arm themselves AGAINST skeletons is one thing (which I've covered before:    • How to Deal With Skeleton Warriors?  )... but what about the most practical weapon FOR skellies?

Sure, they could use whatever (and most commonly sword & shield, apparently), but discerning necromancers might want to maximize and give them what suits their undead strengths (and bony hands) the most.

Might serve as inspiration for dungeon masters in DnD and other roleplaying games or fantasy writing / visual art / animation / etc.
