how i knew i wanted to start my own business | my journey to entrepreneurship

Someone asked me last month if I always knew I wanted to run my own business, and it led me to reflecting on my entire life and looking for the signs of entrepreneurship - they weren't quite hard to find lol.

Growing up in Jamaica, I was always aware of the financial sacrifices that my parents had to make in order to give me the life they wanted for me. This led me, at a very young age, to want to find ways to be a bit more financially independent so that they could enjoy their money in ways that they allowed me to. I remember days my mom and I would go shopping and she would spend all her money on me then purchase nothing for herself.

When reviewing this video, I almost decided not to share it because I felt as though I gave the impression that all I care about is money (and working remotely), but if you know you know - that's simply not true.

I am a problem-solver who loves to build community & that's what I'm doing here at Kurate Media :)
