◯Recommended points
1. There are three coin parking lots available on this route, and I parked at the third one 🅿️, which is closest to Honzanji Temple. It costs 500 yen for 12 hours, and you can pay in advance and leave the receipt on the bonnet.
A paved forest road continues from 🅿️ to Honzanji Temple, but if you take the side road just west of 🅿️, you can continue walking on the natural path.
At the end of the 2nd and 7th century, Enno Gyoja, the founder of Shugendo Yamabushi, opened the temple. There is a self-made statue of Bishamonten in the main hall (National Important Cultural Property, unveiled twice a year). From auspicious origin). It's an old-fashioned place with a small atmosphere, and on the day you can see the autumn leaves for 6 minutes? It was beautiful😍
3. There is a married couple cedar (twin cedar?) called Tengu no cedar with splendid branches, and it is said that tengu 👺 flying from Kurama, Atagoyama, and Minoh stop there to rest ^_^
Yamabushi-san is often compared to a tengu, so perhaps it was a resting place for Yamabushi-san?
4. Is there 60% natural forest along the way? Four quarters of tree planting? Although the main color was green, various natural trees were naturally colored in autumnal colors such as soft and rustic yellow, orange, and red, and it was beautiful 😍
5. I succeeded in photographing a wild deer for the first time just before the summit! 🎉On the day of the day, it was raining heavily until 10 o'clock, and there were not many climbers, and the rain drowned out the signs and sounds of people, so from experience, I was wondering if I might be able to meet them today? That's what I expected. However, unlike deer in the countryside, deer in the city are calm and calm, and even if we looked at each other from 10 meters away, they would just walk away at a slow pace. I dashed to a place where I could hide at least 30 meters away😗)
6. The summit of Mt. Ponpon has an open view from the northeast to the southeast, and it seems that you can see Mt. Hiei in Kyoto to the north, Mt. Ikoma to the south, and if the weather is clear, you can see Abeno Harukas as well. 🤩The space at the top of the mountain is quite small, but there are plenty of benches and tables one step down from the top, so it can accommodate quite a number of people, and I imagine it will be a busy place on Saturdays and Sundays.
7. When you look at the GPS route, there is a west side route that stops at Honzanji Temple before and after Honzanji Temple, and a route on the east side of the valley that does not stop at Honzanji Temple, but the east side route that does not stop at Honzanji Temple is course 1? There is a spectacular view of (see photo and video)
8. Most of the route is wide and well-trodden, making it very easy to walk. However, the cumulative altitude is 550-560m (the difference from the top of the mountain is about 300m from the start), and there are some ups and downs with a difference of 250m.
I was able to descend the mountain safely today, and I would like to thank the mountain gods, the people who maintain the mountain, and everyone who watched the video until the end 😊
For some people, my "inward" V sign might have looked very offensive, and I'd sincerely apologize for it. I didn't know about the meaning of it and didn't mean it. I thought that sign looked like a deer hoof, so I meant by that sign, "Dear(Deer)!❤️"
