Peer Support Services at the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) falls under the Virginia Veteran and Family Support (VVFS) program.
Our Veteran Peer Specialists (VPS) are veterans representing diverse backgrounds, military, post-military and transition experiences, particularly involving Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
The VPS identifies needs, develops a coordinated services plan, and connects the veteran/service member to community resources while providing direct support as they navigate the process toward the achievement of their goals.
