Located along the scenic McKenzie Highway in Oregon’s Willamette National Forest, Proxy Falls is one of the state’s most iconic and unique waterfalls. Cascading 225 feet down a moss-covered basalt cliff, this massive veil-like waterfall is unlike any other in the Pacific Northwest. And just up the trail, you’ll also find Upper Proxy Falls, where two streams tumble into a tranquil pool before vanishing mysteriously underground.
In this video, I’ll take you on the full 1.6-mile loop trail, exploring ancient lava fields, lush forests, and both Upper and Lower Proxy Falls. From the roadside trailhead to the viewpoints and the adventurous trek down to the base, I’ll share everything you need to know for your own visit to this unforgettable spot.
This hike is short but diverse, and it’s only accessible during the summer and early fall when McKenzie Pass is open. It’s truly one of Oregon’s must-see waterfall hikes.
