Next NASA Administrator dodges Senator questions, promises the Moon

Presumed next NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman answered and dodged tough questions April 9 at his Senate confirmation hearing. Top on Senators’ minds were ensuring NASA returns astronauts to the Moon before going to Mars, flying the International Space Station until 2030, and examining potential conflicts of interest between Isaacman and SpaceX or Elon Musk.
Things got a little tense when Isaacman decline to say that he would not close any NASA centers, declined to state that he will not follow an unlawful order from the President, and declined to say whether Elon Musk was in the room during his meeting with President Donald Trump.
However, the biggest surprise was Isaacman's insistence that he will lead NASA astronauts to the Moon AND Mars and more, even with budget cuts. And he will do so with the Space Launch System (SLS), at least initially, so that NASA can return astronauts to the Moon before China does so.
