In this video, I service a vintage Seiko 6139-6015 “Bruce Lee” — one of Seiko’s most iconic chronographs from the early 1970s. This watch came in rough shape, with a scratched crystal hiding a stunning blue dial beneath.
The movement had its share of issues: a loose stem, broken dial spacer, worn oils, a faulty date corrector, and a chronograph recording wheel loose from its arbor. I performed a complete teardown, ultrasonic cleaning, fresh oiling, and reassembly. Along the way, I replaced the crystal, swapped out gaskets, and finished it off with one of my own Time Keep straps.
