Made for the Semi-Finals of SFC09 - "Twisted Character Study"

So this is basically a character study of Freddie from "Skins".The challenge for Round 3 of SFC09 was to make a character video of a character you hate.Of course,Freddie came to mind for me right away but I really loved this challenge because it made me actually get to know Freddie a bit more.

In this video,I tried to show all the angles we've been given of Freddie so far - his friendship with JJ and Cook,his tortured relationship with Effy,his attempt to move on with Katie,and the broken relationship he has with his sister and father.One of the main things I tried to show in this video is Freddie's ultimate struggle with trying to find out who he is.One thing I started to understand about him through making this is that he defines himself based on other people,which is why many the VO's are either from other characters or about other characters.I used black&white/color to highlight this.At the end of the video is kind of my hope for S4: that Freddie can learn to define himself on his own (go from B&W to color)

So hard challenge but I enjoyed it! I tried to do it in the same style (kind of) that I did my other character study of Cook.I would definitely rec. checking out my Cook video "Sad Little Boy" as maybe a companion piece to this.
