Primeval: A Spinosaurus Tribute

A tribute to Primeval's largest land carnivore to have ever walked the planet. A Spinosaurus appeared in Primeval Episode 4.1. It is the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, even larger than Tyrannosaurus Rex and Giganotosaurus. The distinctive spines of Spinosaurus, which were long extensions of the vertebrae, grew up to 2m long and were likely to have had skin connecting them, forming a sail-like structure.
While Abby and Connor were in the Cretaceous, the Spinosaurus saw them in its territory. When Connor re-opened the anomaly to the present with Helen Cutter's Anomaly Opening Device, the Spinosaurus appeared and harrased Abby and Connor, before being distracted by a Dromaeosaurus (killing it in the process), allowing Connor and Abby to go through into the arms of the ARC team. The Spinosaurus came through the anomaly when Connor unlocked it by accident in an attempt to close it, and is lured to an arena, where Connor accidently drops the anomaly device into the creatures open mouth, where it implodes. It is presumed that the creature was returned the Cretaceous when the Anomaly closed.

Although not particularly my favourite dinosaur, Primeval's Spinosaurus was very much worth admiring for marking the return of one of Sci-Fi's greatest Television shows.
