The Lutsk Castle, also known as Lubart's Castle, has a long and fascinating history that dates back to the 10th century.
During the reign of Prince Dmytro Lubart, who became the King of Ruthenia in 1340, Luchesk (modern-day Lutsk) became the capital of Ruthenia and the Volyn-Galician Kingdom in 1366, succeeding the city of Volodymyr.
Later, under the Lithuanian prince Vytautas, the city became the southern capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Today, the castle hosts numerous festivals, concerts, and events.
