Greetings, gentle viewers, from Chernivtsi, Ukraine. This historic city was where East of the West's Valentyna was born and raised. Today it's an attractive city full of shops and restaurants, but it wasn't always thus. Growing up here in the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 was no picnic, as she can attest. In this interview she talks about what it was like.
