Fabulous to see the culmination of so much work over recent years to get BR Class 8 loco 71000 'Duke of Gloucester' back on the mainline and into revenue earning service.
The loco will be working for Locomotive Services Ltd ongoing with today’s debut seeing the loco replace Class 40 loco D213 'Andania' at Crewe to head northbound to Carlisle over Shap.
See the loco loco exit the debut before the changeover with D213 is completed.
