Driftwood - Fog Rush (cheese) speedrun in

The course is very fun with its wide sweeping turns, but the elephant in the room is the shortcut. The shortcut is based on an old collision detection issue (?) that has been present in the game for as long as I've played it and is most prominently used in the shortcut route on Autumn Rush. It is rather inconsistent, especially at this high speed with no setup, but it essentially boils down to being able to nudge yourself through the guardrail sometimes. I'm not exactly sure what depends on it working, I am not even confident you have to lean back to do it anymore, but that's always how I've done it. That's not all there is to it though. You have to do the clip at an angle that maximizes your airtime, as travelling for too long over the grass causes you to get "greyed out" and die, and only with a very far jump you can make it back onto the track. I could see it being possible getting re-entries onto the track with less dirt contact that allow you to conserve more speed and save a bunch of time at the end, but I haven't been able to do that succesfully yet. Even if you do make it onto the track at a high speed, you have to catch yourself and gain control quickly enough to make it through the final hairpin. A TAS optimized re-entry, perhaps with a second clip through the guardrail on the lefthand hairpin, I could imagine achieving times under 50 seconds but doing that in real time is another story
