Video clip from Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer Repair Spacewalk #1, Nov. 15, 2019. The zip tie cutter tool inspired by Lone Star College -- CyFair Team CERO was used for the first time during spacewalk and successfully functioned as designed! This has been an amazing 2-year journey for our students and us advisors. Out of the many highlights, the most important experience for me is to see through the entire engineering design process, from accepting the challenge to intended application. Once again, this student project opportunity was provided by Texas Space Grant Consortium Design Challenge and NASA Micro-g NExT Design Challenge.
