Join us for a fascinating program with New York Times photographer Doug Mills as he discusses what it’s like covering the White House on a daily basis since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis. Mills, considered the dean of White House press photographers, is perhaps the best living photojournalist in the world today. In fact, on 9/11 after the Trade Center buildings went down, Mills was the only still photographer from the media allowed on Air Force One with President Bush.
Doug will describe what a typical day is like covering the White House and describe the social distancing and other health practices that have been put in place there to minimize potential exposure to the virus. He’ll then take you on a LIVE guided tour of the briefing room itself and show you how he sets up to photograph the daily briefings and how news organizations are working with restrictions that have been put into place.
