Since June of this year, I've spent over 300 hours extensively testing the most popular high-power 21700 cells:

A couple months ago, I first tested tabless cells - the Ampace JP40 and the EVE 40PL - and was blown away by their performance. The JP40 in particular, had such superior performance to any other cell I've tested, that I actually bought 200 of them for my next Surron battery pack. In fact, everyone I know who's tested that cell has bought more of them.

In Part 1, I test more samples of both the Ampace JP40 and the EVE 40PL. I only had 2 of each before, so I got 4 more cells directly from Alibaba wholesalers to check for consistency with my original test results. I didn't speed the testing up to 20x this time, because I think these are very important cells and a breakthrough in performance, so the testing needs to be seen. I know it's boring, if you don't want to watch battery tests, please skip ahead...

In Part 2, I briefly discuss the EVE 40PL. These samples are consistent with my first ones.

In Part 3, I explore more about the JP40. The first thing I was really wondering about is, was there any difference between cells labeled Ampace versus cells labelled LT22710A?

In Part 4, I update info about pricing for the JP40, and show US sellers for the cell as well as discuss buying from Alibaba.

In Part 5, I go over additional info about cycle life for the JP40.

In Part 6, I wrap up, and discuss power-to-weight ratio in the PEV world - I think this should be talked about much more!
