I use binaural microphones to archive my hifi setup sound after each change. Binaural recordings supposed to capture the exact sound as heard at the listening spot and therefore it is a mixture of direct and indirect sound. Naturally, a binaural recording will contain true to life spatial information compared to source oriented microphones such as Videomic which can sound much better but doesn't reflect the actual sound heard in the room as they tend to pick up the sound of the speakers and eliminate room reflection.
