UP's Huntington Sub (Nampa to Huntington) Rail Guide Series in 4k - Summer 2025 w/narration & trains. Welcome to another Rail Guide Series. I broke the Huntington Sub into two sections. This is section 1 as I flew into Boise and then drove up to La Grande, which is the entire length of the subdivision. I focused on this area for part one because it covers a fair amount of area, just like section 2 (Huntington to La Grande in a future video).
Some items worth noting is that trains seem to go quite fast in the areas that I visited. I visited the area west of Weiser, but I didn't spot any trains, so I didn't add that area in this video. All of the areas that I went to can be accessed with an SUV (a car would probably be fine, but I have had enough flat tires and bottoming out to not take that chance like I used to). I don't think that this area is worth spending too much time at unless you like fast trains (Weiser is nice as you are next to the Snake River). I would still railfan this area if I had flown into Boise and I was making my way west, but I would probably only spend about a half day out here.
