Important points regarding the IIT Application:

1. Graduation Score
The minimum graduation score required for all programs is 60%, with a relaxation of 5% for SC, ST, and PWD candidates. Notably, IIT Kanpur offers a 10% relaxation.

2. Who can apply?
In addition to Engineers, all IITs accept applications from non-engineers. Students with 3-year undergraduate programs are eligible to apply to all IITs, except IIT Kharagpur, which requires a 4-year graduation program. Additionally, candidates holding a master’s degree in any domain are eligible to apply to all IITs. IIT Kanpur and IIT Mandi additionally needs students to have Mathematics in 12th.

3. CAT Sectional/Overall requirement
Most IITs do not have specific requirements regarding sectional performance. However, three programs have outlined minimum score requirements, while the rest have not indicated any such criteria.
VGSOM IIT Kharagpur: General/EWS (90), OBC (81), SC/ST/PWD (60)
IIT Jodhpur: General (85 Overall, 60 Sectional) | EWS/OBC (76.5 Overall, 54 Sectional) | SC/ST/PWD (56.1 Overall, 39.6 Sectional)
IIT Kanpur: General/EWS/OBC (80 Overall), SC/ST (55 Overall)

4. CAT Score exemption
IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras offer CAT score exemptions to IIT graduates with a CGPA of 7.0 and above, respectively. IIT Mandi provides a CAT score exemption to students from CFTIs/Top 100 NIRF (overall/engineering)
