A respite from the maddening city crowd, an island can truly be a place to soothe strained nerves and calm a chaotic mind. If you are looking out for an island to unwind and relax, head straight for Panju, nestled between Bhayandar and Naigaon.
150 acres of land, 4 salt pans, acres of paddy fields, fresh air, varied flora & fauna is what Panju comprises of.
The inhabitants proudly speak of their connection to the reign of Shreemant Chimaji Ballal Peshwa.
Panju is indeed an island for bird watchers and one can find white ibis, egrets, flamingos, storks and open bills.
The golden dome of the pagoda at Bhayandar, Uttan, the ramparts of Vasai fort are two structures visible from here.
Panju has been simplistically carved to be an eco tourist village. A land that blends history, culture, tradition and environment significances.
