College highlights for former Ohio State RB Robert Smith. Smith joined the Buckeyes in 1990 and immediately made an impact as a freshman, running for 1126 yards and 8 touchdowns. Smith sat out the 1991 season and switched track and field scholarship at Ohio State, before returning to the team in 1992. Smith eventually was taken in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Vikings, and set the team record for career rushing yards (6,818) before Adrian Peterson broke it in 2012.
