Paine Field is a unique airport. It is home to over 500 aircraft, including small, single-engine recreational aircraft, corporate jets, vintage Warbirds, and brand-new Boeing aircraft. Located about 30 miles north of downtown Seattle, the airport offers high-quality aviation facilities, including an FAA tower, Cat 1 ILS, Part 139 certification, FBO services, and good access to Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond.

The airport is home to the Boeing manufacturing plant for 747, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft and supported the initial flight tests and first deliveries of the new 787 Dreamliners and 747-8 Intercontinental and Freighters. Aviation Technical Services is one of the largest third-party aircraft inspection and repair facilities in North America and provides repair and maintenance services for airlines such as Alaska, American, Delta, Southwest, UPS, and the USAF.

Paine Field has become a major tourist destination with the opening of the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour and the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum. Other attractions include the Legend Flyers-Me-262 Project and the Museum of Flight Restoration Center. In March 2019, Paine Field resumed commercial service at a new privately operated terminal, served by Alaska Airlines and United Airlines.
