Sledgehammer is one of the most iconic tracks of the 1980s by Peter Gabriel. An era-defining pop record that featured the incredible Tony Levin on bass.
Here it is performed Live @ The New Adlelphi Theatre, Salford by Songs I Want to Play.
The song's video won a record nine MTV Video Music Awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards and Best British Video at the 1987 Brit Awards. The song also saw Gabriel nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
It was great to finally realise the dream of performing the Songs I Want to Play catalogue (recorded remotely during the global pandemic) to a sell-out live audience in Salford, Greater Manchester.
