5 Backpacking Meals You'll Actually Enjoy!

Tired of getting stomach aches from all the expensive freeze dried meals? Then its time to start making your own! Dehydrators are cheap and will open up the backpacking meal options considerably.
In this video we go over 5 DIY backpacking recipes, ranging in difficult, that you can tackle for your next hike. I've really started to enjoy the food prep process for backpacking, and its become a bit ofa. side hobby for me over the years. I get to start enjoying the trip before I even go on it, by preparing all the awesome food I'm going to eat!

Super Easy Chili Recipe
Make a chili in your kitchen using no fats. Thats right, no butter or oil. In the dehydration process, you want as little fat as possible because it goes rancid first. If you use ground beef, use 90/10 ground beef or even leaner. With ground beef, plan to eat the meal sooner than later.
Spread the chili out on a dehydration tray so there is one layer or less of beans everywhere. This will allow it to dehydrate much faster.
Once the chili is dehydrated it, break it up well before putting it into your plastic bag. This will stop it from puncturing the bag and spilling chili crumbs all over over your main food bag. This has NEVER happened to me before :D

Cheesy Pesto and Shrimp Orzo
Tomatoes Dehydrated
