|Most Overlooked EF5?| 2011 Smithville Tornado

The 2011 Smithville tornado was over 3/4 of a mile wide, had over 200 mph winds, stripped foundations bare, pulled pavement out of the ground, threw cars into the city’s water tower, obliterated over 100 structures, and even ripped pipes out of the ground as it dug a trench into the Earth that was still visible over a year later. But it is an overlooked monster, one I’d never heard of, so I decided to tell its story. This is the 2011 Smithville tornado, one of the many destructive tornadoes from the 2011 super outbreak.
