In a talk from our 2006 Deep in History conference, Dr. Scott Hahn, a former Presbyterian pastor and theologian who became Catholic, discusses some of the intellectual and cultural ideologies, as well as the historical personalities, that were prominent in Europe ahead of the Reformation.
Dr. Hahn looks at the way these ideas and figures reshaped the debate over Christian authority, the role and meaning of the Church, and the question of private interpretation of Scripture.
