Please like and subscribe! A quick morning ski tour from the locked gate near South Fork Trailhead. Redlands to Redlands roundtrip in 6 hours with 3k’ of vert and some absolutely miserable skiing. The beauty was worth it and the snow pack is deeper than it has been for years so there will be many more fun days up there into the Summer. Skiing was okay above 9k’ with a terrible breakable crust below that, hence the awful survival skiing style. This tour was on the Northeast ridge of Alto Diablo between the South Fork Trail and Anderson Peak.
Note: even though the skiing is relatively mellow in this video, conditions were at times extremely cold and icy for Southern California. Do not attempt without proper training, knowledge and gear, not just for backcountry skiing and avalanche safety but for winter hiking and survival.
