New BMW X5: Luxury Car;family car; Practical Car; 2020 BMW X5 M50i Review & Road Test

Overall the new BMW X5 M50i is a big improvement over its predecessor. It's longer, wider and taller which means theres more space inside. The kidney grille doesen't look overly big like it does on some of BMW's other cars, and overall, the X5 M50i looks rugged and rather muscular.
The M50i version of the X5 adds larger front air intakes for better cooling, different rocker panels, new bumpers and a rear spoiler. The car comes with 22" rims encased with 275/40 front and 315/35 rear tires for added grip.The sporty theme continues inside, with an M steering wheel and special pedals. The leather seats are really soft and have the option as vented with massage function, however, the star of the interior is BMW's i-Drive infotainment system. A 12.3-inch reconfigurable gauge cluster is right in front of the driver, with a second 12.3-inch screen in the middle of the dash. The iDrive 7 software can be controlled by touch, but I find myself using the added option of gesture controls more.A Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging are both standard on the BMW M50i. There are a number of USB ports front and rear fir passengers as well as two 12 volt outlets both front and in the boot section.
There are plenty of standard driver-assistance aids, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear collision warning and cross-traffic alert. One of the main reasons you might buy and X5 M50i is its added power. It comes with BMW's 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that puts out 523BHP with 750NM of torque. The BMW X5 M50i comes with M Sport brakes and an M Sport differential to get power to the right wheels for maximum performance. The Adaptive M suspension means this SUV can go from super stiff to total comfy with just the touch of a button.
The BMW X5 M50i is a great option for those amongst us who like a little more power under their right foot. But since the X5's best features are its excellent luxury, comfort and superb tech, it doesn't really matter what's under the bonnet at the end of the day.
