Some former shipmates re-unite in San Diego for the decommissioning ceremony of the U.S Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell, WHEC 719. Immediately after Boutwell was decommissioned we took one last look inside the great ship we had served aboard in the 1970s performing fisheries patrols in Alaska, REFTRA with the U.S Navy in San Diego and Search And Rescue when the weather was too violent to use aircraft. The 378' Hamilton class Coast Guard cutters were the first military vessels ls to use combined diesel and turbine propulsion systems.
Boutwell was an amazing ship and lives on serving in the Philippine Navy.
